Top Cities To Visit In The UK This Winter For A Excellent Day Out With The Family!

Now that the weather is turning sour, it’s hard to keep the kids entertained. After all, you can’t spend weekends in the garden when it’s pouring outside.

And although there are some fun things you can do in the house (check out my previous blog for ideas), it’s nice to get out with the kids! Therefore, here are some cities you should visit this winter for an excellent day out with the family.

Bath

Bath is a beautiful city with its pretty cathedral and beautiful cobbled streets. And the city looks even more beautiful when it’s dusted with frost in the winter months. There’s so much you can do with the kids in winter in Bath. For one thing, they can look around the Roman Baths and learn all about the history. And you can also take them to the Christmas market so that you can pick up some gifts for friends and family. Also, in Royal Victoria Park, your children can put their skates on and enjoy the ice rink which is situated here from November! And you can finish the day in an old tea room with the kids; hot chocolates all round!

London

The best thing about London is there is so much to do and see, even when the weather isn’t great. You can take the kids to the popular National History Museum, where they will be engrossed in all the fascinating artifacts. And you could even take them on a walking tour; the Jack The Ripper Tour would be perfect for teens! As well as this, you could head into one of the many theatre shows in the city for a musical afternoon. And the London Aquarium and Shrek’s Adventure! Are just two attractions which the kids will love. You can finish off the day in a cozy London pub, or even head to Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, where rides, food, and drink await you!

Cambridge

Although you might not fancy punting at this time of the year, Cambridge still has plenty to offer in the winter months. For one thing, your family can wander around one of the many museums situated in the city. For example, the Fitzwilliam Museum has plenty of antiques to look at. You can also head to the shops; there are two main shopping centres to do some Christmas shopping! And for a giggle, you could head to the annual Christmas pantomime at the Corn Exchange.

Manchester

One of the biggest cities in the county, Manchester is brimming with fun things to do during the winter months. If they are fans of Lego, you could take them to the Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre. And after this, you can get some Christmas shopping done at the massive shopping centre. Also, you can take the kids to the Play Factore, which will keep the kids busy for hours. It’s home to the world’s tallest slide! And if you have footie fans in your family, you could head to the Etihad Stadium and Old Trafford, for a tour around two of the biggest football teams in the UK!

Remember to wrap the kids up, just in case it starts snowing while you are out at one of these cities!
