Sometimes it can be hard to think of new and interesting bonding activities to do with your friends and family. There are always the failsafe options of watching a film, getting together for a dinner, or even just having a quick chat over the phone. However, sometimes it can be nice to do something completely new and different, and this is where virtual reality comes in.

If you are based in London and are on the search for a virtual reality experience, you will be happy to know that there are venues available who offer these experiences for both individuals and groups to enjoy. So if you are looking to celebrate a birthday, a team social or are just looking for a fun day out with friends, a virtual reality experience in London may be ideal for you.

What to expect

If you have never had any kind of virtual reality session before, don’t worry about not knowing what to do! As part of your experience, you will have the opportunity to take part in a short demo game as part of your booking. This demo experience lasts thirty minutes and gives you a taster of what virtual reality is as well as getting you familiar with the concept. You will be able to experience three experiences as part of the demo named ‘See’, ‘Score’ and ‘Thrill’.

Types of virtual reality experiences

As part of your virtual reality experience in London, there are different worlds available for you to choose and explore.

If you have always wanted to know what it’s like to protect the world from an alien invasion, the ‘Strike Team Delta’ experience lets you and your fellow marines embark on a mission to prevent an alien takeover by scouring crash sites and searching and securing intel.

If zombies are more your thing, ‘Overrun’ and ‘Overrun’ 2 are virtual reality experiences set during the apocalypse and it is your task to work together with your team to face relentless zombies. ‘Overrun 2’ does not consist of more levels and more zombies – instead, the zombies are even stronger, meaning that you are bound to experience more fun and heart racing action.

Can this be experienced as part of a group?

Virtual reality experiences can also be a great team building activity for work colleagues or alternatively can be booked as part of a birthday celebration for your group of guests. This unforgettable VR experience can accommodate at least 20 players to a maximum of 55 individuals and there is also an optional drinks and food package available for your group of guests.

WIth the group experience, you have the opportunity to watch either your friends or your colleagues work together to complete missions and there is also the chance to win prizes through competing in an exciting tournament.

As part of the experience, you will be given VR glasses, a backpack and a gun whilst working together in games such as ‘Apocalypse’ and ‘Alien Defence’ to defeat either the hordes of zombies or an alien invasion from another dimension. You will also have unlimited access to the demo room which will allow you to familiarise yourself with the virtual reality experience.

Your group experience is not only limited to virtual reality, as you can also play different table games such as pool and football tables to add variety and excitement to your event. If you are a lover of quizzes, you can also make use of a quiz machine available at the venue.
