If finding a lodger or starting a B&B isn’t going to get you enough money by the time you need it, you could always try remortgaging your home. This allows you to borrow money against your property. Some people choose to remortgage their home because it allows them to streamline their debt and consolidate it all together. It also helps people get a better rate on the new mortgage. However, you should only do this if you are sure that it is the right step for you to take. If not, and you fall into even more debt, you could end up losing your house.

There is a lot of money to be made from blogging. So why not start writing about your home? If you are a very creative person, you could start an interior design blog. You could cover topics from DIY projects to decor tips. If you want to, you could even blog about gardening. One quick way of making money is to start adding vlogs to your blog. Post these on YouTube and add adverts to them. If you get enough views, you will be able to make some cash from the advertisements.
