Remember Project Shoebox from last year? 2016 brings a brand new appeal for much needed bedding.
When a woman leaves an abusive relationship, it can take a lot of courage to leave everything behind. Often women who don’t feel safe or supported in the world outside will actually return to a violent home. Bromley and Croydon’s Women’s Aid works extremely hard to make sure they feel safe enough to stay.
Being able to give the women who go to the refuge a warm, cheering, homely place to stay is the first step to finding security. This Christmas, they’re asking for donations of new single bed linen sets, cushions or throws to make the beds they offer feel safe. It’s amazing how much good something as simple as a duvet cover and a cushion can do.
NEW Single Duvet Covers
NEW Single Fitted Sheets
NEW/PRELOVED cushions and throws
They have even created an Amazon Wishlist to make it super easy to donate, with items starting from as little as £1.50. Any items purchased will be sent straight to the Project Shoebox team who will deliver it to the refuges.
They don’t get any funding whatsoever, and rely completely on donations. They are collecting until the end of November so please act now and help a woman sleep soundly.
Make sure you follow their campaign on Facebook and spread the word too. 🙂
