Struggling With Your New Year’s Resolutions? Focus On One Of These Three Areas
For many of us, the start of a new year marks a very important time in our lives. It represents a fresh start – the coming of spring time inspiring us to take on a new approach to many aspects of our lives. It is also a great time to make resolutions and start the new year on a productive, positive note. However, one mistake many of us make is setting our sights too high and forgetting that we actually still have a life to live whilst working on our resolutions. That’s why it is best to decide to just make a few small changes or to focus on just one specific aspect of your life rather than lots of different ones. If you need a bit of inspiration when it comes to your goals for 2017, read on and see what resonates with you.

Fitness
This is probably the most common new year’s resolution that people make. After a month of indulging over Christmas, most of us want to shift at least a bit of the weight we’ve put on and feel a bit more ‘normal’ again. Or perhaps you feel you have been living an unhealthy lifestyle for a while now, and want 2017 to be the year that you change that. If you are going to commit to overhauling your personal fitness next year, you’ll need to take a few steps. The most important thing is ensuring that you don’t fall at the first hurdle, as this will only discourage you and you will soon be back to square one. Gradually make changes to your diet and consider attending the gym with a friend rather than alone. Having someone else there with you can help to motivate you and make you less inclined to quit. Or how about doing something just for you? Hiking can be very therapeutic, and it’s something that can be done in groups or on your own.
Skincare
When it comes to a skincare routine most of us set out with the very best of intentions. Unfortunately, we soon start to slip out of a solid regime and before we know it, we’re going to bed still with our makeup on again and cleansing is the last thing on our minds. But we put our skin through a lot – and if you want to avoid signs of ageing, deciding you are going to look after your skin could be a great resolution for 2017. Find some skincare that works for you and don’t look back.

Re-connecting with friends
A slightly more social resolution to make is re-connecting with people you maybe haven’t spoken to in a while. We all have such busy lives these days and therefore it is easy to fall out of touch with people. But, thanks to the influence of social media, it’s never been easier to find old friends again! Catching up with school friends or people you met at university can be a really fulfilling experience, and it might be something you’ve been meaning to do for a while. If you were always putting it off, make 2017 the year of reconnecting and enjoy seeing some old faces again.
